Tip Junkie Tuesday

Today I linked up on Tip Junkie for Tip Me Tuesday :)  I'm a nerd and am still learning how this works, so when they asked for "NAME" to link up I put my own, not the name of my project... DUH.  I was linking up the easy sangria recipe. Oh well...

Tip Junkie handmade projects

They have a ton of ideas on there today! Here are some of my faves:

Mango Salsa via Ms. Not So Perfect

Adorable 4th of July decor from SecondChancesbySusan.
It's like bunting, but easier. I can totally tear fabric and tie it on a cotton cord.

Jalapeno Pepper Jelly via Drama Queen Seams.
We planted three Jalapeno plants this year and Mister LOVES anything hot and spicy, so I have a feeling I'm going to be making a bunch of these. Don't be surprised if you get one as a present.

3 Step Blanket

Me and My Brother are having a dandy time creating.  So far we're getting pretty good with the whole 3 step blanket (or burpcloth).  I showed a few of my creations in a few posts ago (see here), but I realized I didn't explain the very simple process. Here goes...

Start with 3 pieces (2 cotton flannel pieces and 1 warm & natural liner) or 2 pieces if you don't need warmth or are using Cuddle (cuddle counts as one piece of cotton flannel and the warm & natural liner).  You can basically make them any size you want, just make sure all are the same size.

STEP 1:
Layer the following way on a flat surface... Warm & Natural, cotton flannel with wrong side touching Warm & Natural, second piece of cotton flannel with printed side touching other printed side of 1st piece of cotton flannel.  PIN. PIN. PIN.

Easy Blankets

One of my new obsessions is making blankets.  Intricate quilts are completely intimidating, so I was looking for something E.A.S.Y.  And I found just what I wanted via Google. Google finds anything and everything.

The first blanket I ever made was for my bestie and her new hubbie.  You can see it here.  I did it with cuddle and flannel.  After this blanket I almost banned cuddle forever.

Then I got on a roll.  This was for my niece Abbs.  I got a little creative with the appliques. The back is chenille.  The top is flannel. The exact steps are HERE.
