Fire Pit Dreamin'

Sunday Mister and I worked our guts out in the backyard, specifically in the garden/fruit tree/dirt area. This year we want to expand the garden and put in a fire pit.  There are so many possibilities! I can't wait to have this little firey oasis.

I am totally diggin' the wood block chairs. We have tons of stumps left over from the tree cutting bonanza.  Also, I really like the tiny rocks that surround the fire pit: easy maintenance.

Be on the lookout for your first official invite to a weenie roast this summer!

Sweet Apricot Jam

One of the great things about our property is that we have a bunch of fruit trees in the backyard.  This year we took advantage of the apricot tree and made apricot jam.

It was super easy. Just a few ingredients. Sorry, Mr. Lemon juice is missing from this picture.

apricot jam recipe

Wash them good!

Mash all the apricots, skins and all.  Then stir it all together.

Pour it in cute little containers with purple lids. Purple lids = genius!

Freeze and enjoy!  You too can get your domestic goddess on!

*Domestic Man note: Mister made a second batch with jalapenos from garden. Sweet with just a hint of spicy. Delicious!

Smelling Like Roses

I love our roses.

Each year I learn something new to make them even more beautiful.

This year I learned that I should be careful when trimming branches with really, really big thorns.
